GREENVILLE, SOUTH CAROLINA, USA, November 22, 2022 /EINPresswire.com/ — JUMP START announced that it had received a $100,000 grant from the Truist Foundation to be used for workforce development around JUMPSTART’s recently created employment initiative.

Cary Sanders, Executive Director of JUMPSTART, says, “As our community provides transformative opportunities for men and women, our entire community wins together.”

JUMPSTART’s employment initiative creates living wage opportunities to help men and women move forward in realizing their potential. Using partnerships with businesses, services and education, JUMPSTART’s employment initiative breaks down barriers to securing decent paying employment for the 1,136 people released from incarceration in Spartanburg and Greenville each year. Through this support, men and women will receive the resources they need to thrive and establish themselves as productive and contributing members of society.

“To help formerly incarcerated people rebuild their lives, it’s critical that we support efforts to help them achieve self-reliance and employment,” said Wes Lehrer, Spartanburg Market President for Truist. “Our support of JUMPSTART will provide essential job training and other essential services to prevent recurrence and enable long-term success, and it’s also how we fulfill Truist’s goal to inspire and build better lives and communities.”
