Foodles in France feeds its workforce fresh food from awesome fridges
Not that the French have a slight edge over the English, Scottish, Welsh and Northern Irish when it comes to cuisine, but… Parisian scale-up Foodles has successfully entered the UK market to bring the tasty vittles to the workforce with the goal of transforming the way people eat at work.
Currently serving more than 40,000 meals per week in France to customers including Marriott, Hyatt, Hilton, ODDO BHF, Ubisoft and Veepee, the startup has more than one million meals distributed to date through some 300 cost-effective smart fridges.
Offered for a monthly maintenance fee, Foodles’ offering offers large and medium-sized businesses a new alternative to outdated canteens and/or take-out solutions often popularized at the time.
With its connected capabilities, Foodles fridges are able to analyze customer preferences and restock accordingly, not only ensuring the most wanted items are always close at hand, but reducing any waste. unnecessary food, a figure that Foodles claims to reduce by 10%.
“With more than half of UK workers saying they never take their full lunch break and the average worker only spending 27 minutes at lunch, a change in mindset and behavior is needed,” explained Renaud Barnoin , managing director of Foodles UK. “By providing fresh, tasty and affordable meal options at any time of the day, companies can encourage a communal atmosphere around meal and break times, contributing to a more cohesive and friendly company culture – something which is high on the priority list of every business leader today.
Foodles has raised over €42 million in funding since 2015 – with support from InfraVia Growth Partners, Bpifrance Large Venture, Creadev, DN Capital and Adelie.
